An Elders Internal Auditor is responsible for delivering internal audits through conducting independent reviews of risk, internal controls and processes across the organisation. The objective is to continually strengthen and improve Elders control environment to enable Elders to achieve its key business objectives.  Your skills will help the business more effectively manage risks and embrace change and with the backing of the Elders network, you will be supported to learn and grow your career. 


As an Internal Auditor, you will: 

  • Plan and conduct internal audits as per the Internal Audit Plan. 
  • Understand and identify key risks in the process and assess associated controls. 
  • Design audit test plans with sufficient detail and clear conclusions. 
  • Ensure projects are completed effectively by delivering quality work, meeting deadlines and keeping within budget. 
  • Identify and validate findings with Management during fieldwork to ensure factual accuracy and understand root causes. 
  • Actively engage with business representatives to build relationships and to understand their perspectives. 
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors for coordinating audits and reviews. 
  • Be responsive to addressing questions from the business to minimise risk (special investigations, seeking advice on controls). 
  • Lead interactions with business stakeholders to gather key information on controls components. 
  • Follow up status of agreed actions regularly and support business in implementing actions. 
  • Actively contribute and drive improvement in the way business manage controls. 


To succeed in this role, you will have: 

  • Minimum 3 years internal audit experience. 
  • Proven stakeholder engagement skills with exceptional verbal and written communication. 
  • Self-motivated and driven individual able to take initiative, has curious mindset and embraces change. 
  • Strong understanding of business processes, systems, risks and controls and ability to identify gaps and propose solutions. 
  • Collaborative style able to achieve outcomes in a fast paced environment. 
  • Experience in creating and executing audit test plans with attention to detail and clear conclusions. 
  • Sound IT literacy and data analytics skills to drive more effective control assessments. 


  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Accounting, Finance, Commerce or other relevant degree) 
  • Professional qualification (CPA, CIA, CA or equivalent desirable) 
  • Experience in agribusiness or retail (desirable) 
  • Required travel (from time to time)
