The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Agronomist who is passionate about agricultural production to join our Gatton branch. You will be an integral part of the team working closely with our management and providing technical advice and product recommendations to clients. You will require a commercial, flexible and positive attitude, as well as possess a sound understanding of all agronomy disciplines (crop, weed, disease & horticulture).

The role will involve:

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients to understand their current and future needs.
  • Providing clients with agronomic technical advice and recommend products accordingly.
  • Performing agronomic services for clients with farm management including planning, monitoring, testing & inspecting.
  • Identifying and cultivating new agronomic sales opportunities for prospective and existing clients.
  • Assisting Merchandise Manager with product forecasting and inventory management.
  • Advise, mentor and develop other employees in agronomic disciplines.

The Person

  • Proven sales track record and previous experience in an agronomy role;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and engage meaningfully with customers and stakeholders;
  • Possess superior understanding of products, seasonal timing and general agronomy disciplines to best assist customers;
  • Tertiary qualifications in agricultural science or a related field;
  • Ability to provide high level customer service and cultivate relationships with potential and current customers with a view to expand sales;
  • Possess superior written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to convert opportunities into sales transactions.
