The Role

This role requires the individual to:

  • Managing the Elders component of the Wagga Wagga Saleyards ensuring livestock (both sheep and cattle) are received, processed, displayed and managed using the correct process and ensuring their health and welfare;
  • Managing casual and contracted staff;
  • Coordinate staffing requirements for weekly sales;
  • Ensuring safety and compliance requirements are met within the saleyards;
  • Managing relationships with non-Elders saleyard staff;
  • Being a role model and displaying the One Elders Values.

The Person

  • possess an understanding of safe livestock handling practices and experience in a livestock handling role;
  • strong communication and leadership skills;
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as being motivated and capable of working autonomously.
